How to take a screenshot on Mac

In this article we will show you how you can easily take a screenshot on a Mac

 

Screenshot of entire screen
  • Open all your programs you want to have on the screenshot
  • Press Command + Shift + 3 all at the same time
  • Your screenshot is saved as a .png file on your desktop.

 

Screenshot of selected portion of your screen
  • Press Shift + Command + 4. The pointer changes to a crosshair 
  • select the portion of your screen you want to capture – move your mouse on place you want to begin your screenshot, press and hold mouse button and move cursor to the final position. Release mouse button when you are happy with selection.
  • You’ll hear a camera sound.
  • Your screenshot is saved as a .png file on your desktop.
 

 

Screenshot of specific window
  • Press Shift + Command + 4. The pointer changes to a crosshair
  • Press the Space bar and your pointer changes to a camera.
  • Move the camera over the window and highlight it.
  • Click your mouse button to take a screenshot.
  • Your screenshot is saved as a .png file on your desktop.
