It was reported in the book “Herbal Medicine: Biomolecular and Clinical Aspects” that topical application of turmeric can delay the onset of skin tumors. Aside from its ability to fight diseases like cancer, its benefits to beautify the skin are also notable.

Curcumin, the potent compound found in turmeric is the effective remedy to soothe irritated skin. It was traditionally utilized as burn relief medication. It also helps speed up the healing process of cuts, bruises and wounds. Turmeric masks are effective remedies for eczema, acne and psoriasis. They help reduce inflammation, redness and promote healing for these skin conditions.

Why Use Yogurt

Yogurt is not just used to dress your salad, it is also a great remedy for hard and dry skin. Plain yogurt contains lactic acid which softens dehydrated and rough skin. Lactic acid is one of the ingredients used in many moisturizing products sold in the market these days.  It also helps lighten minor pigmentations without eliminating the skin’s moisture.

If you do not have any yogurt, you can substitute yogurt with milk. Milk contains lactose and will eventually break down to lactic acid. Fresh milk does not contain any lactic acid yet, so make sure to use an old stock you have.
